Thoughts That Invoke Happiness

There are two things I want when I wake up in the morning. The first, is obvious - a beautifully made cup of Starbucks coffee. The second, is not so obvious to many people, but should be consciously noted - to be happy. Waking up everyday and wanting happiness is something that will lead you to a long and joyous life. So, when I wake up each morning, and as I go about my day, the thoughts that I try to encounter are those that make me smile. I’d say it’s almost a recipe to Get Happy in 60 Seconds℠! Here are the things that I try to think about all day everyday:

Friends & Family

If the thought about anything should make you smile, it should definitely be the thought of friends and family. Because friends and family are the backbone of who you are and what makes you happy, keep them in your mind throughout the day! What I like to do is call a different friend or family member each day that I have not talked to in a while just to catch up and let them know that I’m thinking of them. Try this! Many people that you reach out to will actually thank you for calling them and will want to talk more often. This will form bigger and stronger bonds with them!

Places You Want to Travel To

Think about somewhere in the world that you would want to travel if you could leave tomorrow… Paris, Tokyo, Iceland, Hawaii… Okay thinking over! Now, audit yourself for a second. Do you remember smiling when you were dreaming of your destination? If it made you smile, I’m glad because now you know that you should be thinking of that destination more! And you can now go in depth a little bit more about why that place makes you smile too. Is it the people there that are so friendly? Is it the top notch food choices? Or is it just the smell of the fresh air that your destination has to offer? Find out your favorite place and recall the reasons why you love it so much! That’ll definitely put a smile on your face!

Being Grateful for the Present Moment

The past is the past and the future is the future… Today, is today. In order to be a happy person each and every day, being grateful for where you are currently at is very important. There may be a lot of things that you want five or ten years from now and crave their present existence, but you cannot miss out on the present moment and what you currently have. Yeah, maybe you want a brand new 2016 BMW 335i, but you have to be grateful for the current 2006 Honda Accord that you have. Why? Because there are people who have 1996 Honda Accords. And, there are people out there who don’t even know what it’s like to ever even touch a vehicle. There’s so much to be grateful for in your current world. All you have to do is open your eyes to see it.

Well, that’s it for me today :) I hope you enjoyed my thoughts on what makes me happy each day. Please, please, please leave some feedback and share this article with someone who would like it! Have a wonderful day!
